The Government Is Practicing a Deception on reduction of diesel prices - Gemunu Wijerathne

The President of the Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association (LPBOA), Gemunu Wijerathne, states that although bus fares are scheduled to be revised from July 01 in accordance with the National Bus Fare Policy, the National Transport Commission (NTC) failed to provide an opportunity for the discussions that should have preceded it.

இன்று (30) ஊடகங்களுக்கு கருத்து தெரிவித்த அவர், டீசல் விலை சூத்திரம் அமுலுக்கு வருவதற்கு முந்தைய நாள் இரவிலேயே அரசாங்கம் டீசல் விலையை குறைத்தது பஸ் கட்டண உயர்வை அடக்குவதற்கான தந்திரமான தந்திரமாகும்.

அரசாங்கம் கையாண்ட தந்திரோபாயங்களைப் பொருட்படுத்தாமல், இறுதியில் பொதுமக்களே செலவுகளை ஏற்க வேண்டும் என்று குறிப்பிட்ட அவர், அவர்கள் என்ன செய்தாலும் அரசாங்கத்தின் அணுகுமுறை ஒரே மாதிரியாக இருக்கும் என்றும் கூறினார்.

Gemunu Wijerathne further stated that the government is practicing a deception, acting out of fear that a protest might erupt against it, and is completely failing to consider the sustainability of the bus industry.
